Steve Grotowski - Beach Club Director

Over the last 3 years Steve Grotowski has been training with the British Olympic Beach Volleyball team. Since moving to England he has been the top ranked player and helped in establishing British Volleyball on the international beach volleyball tour. Steve has trained with some of the top coaches in beach volleyball, including coaches like Jeff Alzina who coached Stein Metzger and Dax Holdren to a 5th place at the Athens Olympics, Matt Grinlaubs who competed for Australia in the Sydney Olympics and Mike Morales who trained Grotowski in 06' when he had his best season on the AVP tour. He is also a four time National Champion in 02', 05', 06', and 07' and was ranked in the top 20 AVP teams in 06'.

Before moving to England Steve spent 7 years coaching boy's and girl's indoor volleyball in the Florida area. After graduating from Northeast High School Steve went back to help the Lady Canes with back to back appearances in the Regional finals in 00' and 01'. He was also an assistant coach to Terri Jimenez at Pine Crest between 02' and 03' where they won States in both seasons. From 2002 to 2007 he worked with Boomers volleyball club coaching girls between the ages of 12 and 18. During 04' and 05' Steve helped the Northeast boy's volleyball team to two State final four appearances and one runer-up in 05'. In 06' Steve took on the role of Head Coach for the St. Thomas Aquinas Boys volleyball team, leading them into the regional finals.

Now back in South Florida Steve will be returning to the AVP pro beach tour and heading up the first ever beach program for Boomers a well known South Florida club.

 

Mike Morales - Director of Training

Michael grew up in Miami and has been involved in volleyball for 20 years. He is a former AVP player. He has coached on many different levels, including high school, college, national and international. He now spends the majority of his time coaching and training professional men and women’s beach volleyball for the AVP tour. He also coaches aspiring athletes to achieve their goal of playing on the AVP.

Hugo Jimenez -

Grew up in Pine Crest gym with his mother coaching there and hanging around while she played beach volleyball.  Played at Pine Crest, had most kills, digs, aces in mens program to date.
He attended the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business and played on the men's club there while continuing to play beach.
Hugo was the assistant coach for Ace 18 mens at nationals,  the assistant coach at Pine Crest from 2002 - 2003, the assistant 18's coach for one year under Coach Nichols at Boomers, 13 elite's, and 15 elite's coach the past 4 years, and assistant coach at North Broward Prep since 2005. In 4 years as a head coach, Hugo has qualified 3 times winning two National Qualifiers in the last two years with a best finish of 5th in the Nation.
